Climbing Half Dome via the Regular Northwest Face Route (RNWF) is one of the most coveted of Yosemite climbs. The climbing varies from splitter cracks, chimneys, delicate traverses, and even a little slab climbing. With a touch of loose rock thrown in for good measure. There is even a seasonal, fresh water spring right at the base of the route! Half Dome is much more a logistics climb than other long routes in Yosemite. Efficiency and planning is required to make it up an often crowded, 24 pitches. Once on top, an easy one-hour hike takes you back to the base of the route. RNWF is so awesome!
