Description: A convenient and diverse area that borders the Black Elk Wilderness on the W side of the Iron Mountain Road. Directions: From Keystone, SD continue W on US-16 Alt W/US-16 toward Mt. Rushmore. Take a left on Iron Mountain Road/ Scenic U.S. Highway 16A W. Follow the road for 2.6 miles to the top of the hill. Parking: Park along side of the road (GPS N 43.863108° W -103.440705°).
