The rugged Elk Tooth is located southeast of Cony Lake, about a mile east of Ogalalla Peak, along a ridge that forms the divide between Cony Creek and Middle Saint Vrain Creek. Approach: Hike the Finch Lake Trail to Pear Lake, then continue into the Cony Lake cirque until northeast of the peak at 11,200 feet. Elk Tooth may also be approached from the Saint Vrain Glacier Trail . Follow this trail until southeast of the peak at 10,800 feet. Descent: Reverse the route and approach. It is also possible to continue west and climb the East Ridge of Ogallalla Peak .
