The Armory has some of the best looking rock in the canyon, with routes like Ken T’ank (5.12c) and The Gauntlet (5.12d). We have seen some new routes going up here lately, including The Overhangover (5.13a) and Fully Automatic (5.12d) and it’s finally a wall that you can climb on all day, so long as you’re climbing in the 5.12 to 5.13 range. While its approach forces you to cross the creek, the climbing here is well worth it.
Approach: Park 100 yards west of Tunnel 6 on the north (right) side of the road after driving 12.8 miles up the canyon. From here, hike east on the creekside trail until reaching the tyrolean about 200 yards downstream. Take the tyrolean across the creek and the Armory will be just on the other side. You may also cross the creek by walking across when the water is low.
